The first day of Serbian Final Cup for seniors in Sremska Mitrovica will be remembered for an outstanding result achieved by Amela Terzic in 800m race. Her result of 2:05:98 has propelled her to the top of world ranking as the leading young junior. Thanks to the fast 800m event, Marija Stambolic (2:08:43) also qualified for the World Junior Championship in Moncton, Canada. The results achieved by our national team members have solved some of the dilemmas troubling the national head coach as to who should win the place in the national team for the forthcoming European Team Championship to be held next weekend at Crvena Zvezda Stadium in Belgrade, starting at 3:30pm.
“Asmir Kolasinac will compete in shot-put event, Jovan Vukic in high jump, Tanja Mitic in 100m run, but it gives me great pleasure that Jelena Subotic is in great form and will run in 4×100m relay”, said the national head coach.
