Pictures for Tickets

In the past months the plateau by the Terazije fountain in downtown Belgrade has become a gathering place for all those who wish to swap pictures of football players at the World Football Championship that is to start today. Representatives of the Athletics Federation of Serbia visited today “Anton Skala” Elementary School during their European Team Championship 2nd League promotion campaign. A press conference was held today at SOS TV station about the forthcoming European Team Championship 2nd League. EA Vice President visit Athletic Federation of Serbia

At the invitation of Athletics Federation of Serbia, Svein Arne Hansen, the vice presidents of European Athletics, and Bill Glade, the director of Development Committee have come to Belgrade on a three-day visit.
The main reason for their visit was to get acquainted with situation in athletics in Serbia and to offer help and support to Serbian Federation in developing athletics strategy.

New Serbian record at 400m hurdles

Yesterday, in Slovenia, at the Postojna Athletic Meeting, Serbian athlete Emir Bekric won 400m hurdles race. The 110m and 400m junior champion from New Belgrade, Emir Bekric, achieved a new Serbian record result at 400m hurdles event. The new Serbian junior record for 400m hurdles is now 51,87sec. For the past 37 years it was 51,91sec, won by Anton Gluhak, in Athens in 1973.

Sport Expo

FTS Sport Media and Usce Shopping Centre organized Sport Expo between June 4th and 6th, during which different sports were presented to the public at Usce Shopping Centre plateau in New Belgrade.

Athletic Federation of Serbia presented the European Team Championship 2nd league, to be held at Crvena Zvezda Stadium on June 19th and 20th, at Sport Expo. Vlade Divac, Serbia’s Olympic Committee president, together with “Decje Srce” charitable organization that looks after children with special needs, visited the AFS booth and saw athletic equipment on display.

Snežana Pajkić gave start of the race

120 charming ladies with smiling faces appeared at the start line of the first Belgrade “Wedding Gowns Duel”. Snezana Pajkic, the vice president of Athletic Federation of Serbia and promoter of this quirky event, gave the signal for the start of the race.

Organizers of the event, magazine “Vencanje”, provided wedding gowns for the occasion. The winner of this race was Marija Stambolic (17) who took 22.02 seconds to run the required 200m. “The wedding gowns Duel” race

A somewhat unusual event is scheduled for Sunday noon, June 6th at the Nikola Pasic Square. It is a race called “THE WEDDING GOWNS DUEL”, a warm-up for “The First Belgrade Wedding fair” that is to be held on June 12th and 13th in Belgrade Arena.
The Athletic Federation of  Serbia gladly joined the organizers of this event, and will promote the upcoming  European Team Championships 2nd League Belgrade 2010.

Ivana in Oslo

The third Diamond League meeting is to be opened tomorrow in Oslo. Ivana Spanovic, the long jumper is to represent Serbia at this meeting. Ivana was invited to the meeting thanks to excellent results she has achieved at recent IAAF meeting at Daegu, where the next World Athletics Championship is to be organized in 2011.
